Zapier is Tadlace’s Automation feature. It connects your quiz activity to the rest of your stack.
When a participant hits a trigger you’ve set, whether that is a top rank, a score threshold, or a tag earned, Tadlace pushes their data to your own tools the moment it happens, with no engineering required on your end.
Connect Your Stack
Push quiz completions, scores, and tag-based segments straight into Slack, HubSpot, Google Sheets, or 6,000+ other apps.
Uses Triggers You Know
Your Zaps run on the same trigger rules that power your campaigns: rank, score %, or tag earned. Set a trigger, pick a destination, done.
Separate From Rewards
A Zapier automation is independent of any guest reward. Turning it on doesn’t change whether or how participants receive a coupon or voucher email. It’s an internal notification for your team.
How It Works
You set up a Zapier automation from the same trigger builder you already use in your campaigns. Choose Zapier as the type, set a trigger (rank, score %, tag earned, etc.), and Tadlace pushes the participant’s data to Zapier the moment that trigger fires. Nothing goes to the participant. The event lands straight in your tools.
Turning on a Zapier automation doesn’t change whether or how participants receive a coupon/voucher email. It’s an independent notification for your team, never a guest-facing reward.
Setup Guide
Add a Zapier automation
In any campaign, add a new entry in the trigger builder, set its trigger (e.g. “Top 3 finish” or “Score above 80%”), and choose Zapier as the type instead of Coupon, Voucher, Link, or Text. Picking Zapier makes it an automation that pushes data to your tools rather than a guest-facing reward.
Generate your API key
Go to Settings → Integrations → Zapier and click Generate API Key. Copy it immediately, because for security it’s shown only once. If you lose it, you can regenerate a new one at any time (this invalidates the old key, so you’ll need to update any Zaps using it).
Connect in Zapier
Click Connect on Zapier from the same settings page, paste your API key when prompted, and pick which automation you want to trigger this Zap from a dropdown list. The Tadlace app on Zapier is invite-only for now, so it won’t show up in Zapier’s search. Use the Connect button in Tadlace instead.
Build your Zap
Choose your destination action, whether that is posting to a Slack channel, adding a row to a Google Sheet, or creating a CRM contact, then turn the Zap on.
Confirm it’s live
Back in Tadlace, your Settings → Integrations → Zapier page shows all active Zaps under Active Zaps, listed against the automation each one is linked to.
What Data Gets Sent
When a trigger fires, Zapier receives:
- Participant name and email
- Contact details you collected when they joined: phone, organization, job title
- Quiz title
- Trigger type (rank, score %, tag, etc.) and the relevant value
- Timestamp
No guest-facing content is ever included: no coupon codes, no files, no links. Zapier events are for your internal tools, not for delivering anything to participants.
Good to Know
One automation = one Zap. Each Zapier automation maps to exactly one trigger, so there’s no ambiguity about what fires when.
Delivery isn’t retried. If a Zap fails to receive an event (e.g. Zapier is briefly down), that event isn’t retried or queued. Normal operation resumes with the next trigger.
Turning off a Zap is instant. Turning off a Zap in Zapier automatically stops new events from being sent for that automation, with no action needed on the Tadlace side.
Troubleshooting
My Zap doesn’t fire
Check that the automation is still set to type Zapier and its trigger conditions are actually being met by a participant. Also confirm your API key hasn’t been regenerated since the Zap was connected.
Zapier can’t find “Tadlace”
Make sure you’ve accepted the invite link if this integration is still private (contact your account team for access).
My API key stopped working
Regenerating an API key invalidates the old one immediately. If a Zap suddenly stops working, check whether the key was regenerated and update the connection in Zapier with the new one.
